Rooms I Love

Lots of photos from this weekend are currently being edited and should appear in posts throughout the week, but for today I thought I would dig through my folders of design ideas and share some of my favorites. Most of them will have links to the website where the original can be found, however, if there is no link or it does not lead to the correct website and you have found the original please let me know.

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!

I love the colors in this kitchen, and that the table spans the entire room. It is definitely made for family.
How amazing is this bathtub?! I have never seen a bath built into the floor before, but I love the idea. It feels very moroccan to me.
I think you could really breathe in here. It is very fresh and open.
This one reminds me of the 50's. I love the bright color accents and the white subway tiles on the backsplash.
I like this room in concept, but functionally speaking I don't think I could live with it. I am renowned for whacking my head on various objects and that beam from wall to ceiling looks absolutely treacherous.
Now this I could deal with. Brick walls on the inside of a house are so beautiful.

Pretties

Today has been a strange day in that I didn't have much to do. Probably a large part of that is because my fiance and I are house sitting this weekend for his parents, and since I was not at home there was no cleaning to be done. Yay! So, while watching HGTV I edited some of the pictures that I took on Wednesday of things in our living room that make me happy. I hope
they make you smile too. :) I played around with some newish post production options, and I was pretty pleased with the results. What do you think?

I also put away all of our Christmas decorations on Wednesday, but before the ornaments went back into their crates to wait for next December I took a few pictures. I love how festive these look.

Yellow is one of my favorite colors for decorating/accenting. It makes everything look a little brighter, don't you think?

One of my very favorite books: The Agony and the Ecstasy by Irving Stone

Holiday Mashup Part 2

As promised, the rest of our holiday pictures from Michigan and Kansas City. Enjoy.
Our darling Christmas tree, Charles, all decked out on Christmas morning. He was a good tree really, even if he was a little tippy. :)

Jeff found this beautiful rock on the shore of Lake Superior. We just couldn't part with it (I mean, how often do you find a rock with a perfect cross on it?) so it made the looong car trip home with us. Now it has a place of honor in our kitchen planter window.

Holiday Mashup Part 1

A few of my favorites from Thanksgiving and Christmas 2009. Forgive me for being horrendously late, that's just the way I am sometimes. :)
Some of these are from our trip to the upper peninsula of Michigan to visit my fiance, Jeff's uncle Mike and his family. The rest are from around home.
Let me know what you think!

I just couldn't get enough of these chickens in the snow.

Don't we look so cold? This is what we woke up to on Thanksgiving morning. It was gorgeous. Talk about something to be grateful for. :)

I want to live here

I would put a big metal bathtub on the back lawn, and not worry about the neighbors spying. Hopes.

Snowbound

Over the holidays we got quite a bit of snow here in Kansas City. Since my best friend was in town for Christmas break we decided a photo shoot was in order, and what better way to enjoy all of the wonderful snow? Here are some of my favorites.

She is a goofball. :)

Isn't she gorgeous?
